2024 Young Texas Artists Music Competition Application

Young Texas Artists Music Competition applicants must be one of the following:
- Attending a Texas college, university, or music school
- A permanent resident of Texas, enrolled in any college, university, or music school
- A current Texas resident (holding a Texas driver's license, ID card, or Texas voter registration card)

Additionally, contestants may not
- Have been a previous grand prize winner
- Currently be a student of one of the judges

You will need to bring two documents:
1. One establishing date of birth (government issued ID or passport)
2. One establishing residency or student status (student ID, voter registration card, or a recent utility bill in your name).

- If selected to participate, I will provide two original scores of my music, one for the judge panel, and one to keep on stage during my performance(s).
- Photocopies are allowed if your work is in the public domain in the United States and the edition is also in the public domain, OR if your piece is not in the U.S. public domain and you have downloaded it legally (you will be required to show proof of purchase).
- Competitors who provide illegal copies of scores for either judges or accompanists will not be allowed to compete.

Young Texas Artists reserves the right to disqualify contestants who do not exhibit the standards of accountability, behavior, and responsibility as dictated by professional decorum.

1. You may pay an additional $125 if you will require the use of a YTA Staff Collaborative Pianist.
2. The collaborative pianist fee is non-refundable after 2/10/24, should you withdraw from the Young Texas Artists Music Competition or choose not to use a YTA Staff Collaborative Pianist.
3. Contestants not selected to participate in the preliminary round will have this fee refunded upon notification of initial results.
4. You are encouraged to pay the collaborative pianist fee now, as the fee will increase to $150 on 1/1/24.
5. Change in repertoire after 2/15/24 will result in a $50 repertoire change fee.
